There is a way to tell whether a word is masculine or feminine. Some languages, like Portuguese, have them (if it ends with o, masculine, if it ands with a, feminine) We have a rule for it as well. If a word ends with an i,o,u it is masculine, but if it ends with a,e it is feminine but if it ends with a consonant, it is masculine, unless the letter is completely curly, like s,c,g etc...
The articles a, and the ary depending on the gender of the next noun (a-om, oma; the-di, da) and pronouns change (his, hers, theirs, ours etc...) like Elo'z gato vs. Elosa quavala.
