Short VowelsEdit

Short vowels are one of the most regular & non-changeable sound cases on Anglit, and also an easy topic to take on. Short vowels tend to be in most of the cases between two or more consonants, and at the end of a word. But in a few of them, you can find them quickly at the beginning of a word.

VOWEL IPA SYMBOLS ENGLISH EXAMPLE ANGLIT EXAMPLE
a a sand
e e lend
i ɪ crisis
o o toll
u u loom
y y university

Long VowelsEdit

The long vowels are noticed when two identical vowels are next to each other, they can not be next to diphthongs, and neither at the end of a word (except for ëë, and ÿÿ). Also long vowels tend to be at the end of a syllable.

VOWELS IPA SYMBOLS VOWEL CASE ENGLISH EXAMPLE ANGLIT EXAMPLE

ee Final position. say
ee e: Middle position. met
ee ɪ: Start position. meet
oo Final position. boil
oo o: Middle position. son

yy y: Only start & end. union

Note: Vowels with the umlaut diacritic, have been erased 'cause of irregularities during its development.
