The noun has three genders: feminine (ending in a, o, i, u, ié or lé and forms plural by adding r), masculine (ending in é and forms plural by replacing é with an í) and neuter (ending in a consonant and forms plural by adding y, but the nouns ending in m make plural ny, nouns ending in c make plural ty, the nouns ending in g make plural with hy)

The past tense is formed by adding an e and at plural er: quát --> na quáte- I was, et quáter- we were . The future is formed by adding évo and at plural évor : quát --> na quátévo- I will be
