Grammar[]
Word Order[]
Humi follows a Object-Subject-Verb. Adverbes usually come in the beginning of the sentences and the complement comes before the object:
- I.e.: I'm giving you a gift = I is the subject; 'm giving is the verb; you is the object; a gift is the complement.
The same sentence written in the OSV order would be:
- A gift you I'm giving.
Sentences can also be treated as object, and the word qun is placed before the sentence, qun is treated as the object of the next sentence. The adverbs, indirect objects and locatives of the latter sentence go after the subject, but before the qun.
- Ahatsínu qun phu -
- You+to be alive that I+to see
- I see that you're alive
