Ilianni (ilyani) is the official language of the Eaffian Empire (ilianni: yaffangetu zeimiþfrakaisarad), in which all official decrees, speeches, and documents are made within the empire. It is the language of the nobility and upper class in Eaffange, spoken most commonly within the walls of the capital city of Kandenum.
Classification and DialectsEdit
Ilianni is a part of the Kabranu language family, of which Ilianni and Ailani, a widely spoken dialect, are the only surviving members.
Ailani is a dialect of Ilianni that formed after the conquest of Arenama, when Ilianni mixed with Arani (the native language of the northern portions of Arenama). It is a simpler, more widely spoken language than Ilianni, and incorporates many grammatical and morphological components of Arani.
Consonants are the main component of Ilianni and are viewed, culturally, as superior to vowels.
