Accent
Rhythm is syllabic. Each word is accented. Canonical Interlect uses a stress accent.
Stress falls in the vowel immediate preceding last consonant. If there is no vowel before the last consonant, stress falls on the first vowel

Ortography
a, b, d, e, f, g, k, l, m, n, o, p, r, s, t, z, represent their IPA values.
<c> and <k> are always /k/–/k/, <c> is preferred.
<i> is either the vowel /i/–/i/ or the semivowel /j/–/j/.
<u> is either the vowel /u/–/u/ or the semivowel /w/–/w/.
<j> is the consonant /Z/-/ʒ/.
<x> is the consonant /S/-/ʃ/.
h, w and y are not used in Interlect common words. If used, their value is not fully defined.

The letters are called: a, be, ce, de, e, ef, ge, ax, i, je, ca, el, em, en, o, pe, cua, er, es, te, u, ve, ua, ex, ia, ze.

Alternative orthographies
As explained, <k> might be used instead of <c>.
Furthermore, <w> and <y> might be used instead of semi-vocalic <u> and <i>. This is not advised, however.
There is also a Cyrillic, Greek and Thompinian orthographies.
