GrammarEdit

NounsEdit

Nouns are sorted into the six Kontoo genders - male, female, neuter, emale, unfemale, inneuter. After that, they decline by number, into one, two and many. Finally, they decline through case. Kontoo only has three cases - transitive, for nouns appearing in transitive verbs, intransitive, for nouns in intransitive verbs, and plain, for all other situations.

Gender Edit

The six genders are split into two types - the regular genders, and the irregular genders. Male, female and neuter are the regular genders, and always end in -e, -i and -u respectively. However, the irregular ones behave like their regular counterparts, except with no regular ending.

Number Edit

Works just like verbs.

Case Edit

The case affix comes between the number affix and the gender suffix. Transitive is "al", and intransitive is "ig".

VerbsEdit

Kontoo conjugates by mood, aspect, voice, number and tense. The conjugations are affixes onto the root of the verb.

Mood Edit

There are four moods in Kontoo. The default mood is indicative, with no affix, and the others are imperative (ru), conditional (pu) and subjunctive (po'). The affix is at the very front.

Aspect Edit

There are three aspects - complete at some point (ly), never complete (ju),r and completeness unsure (te`). These come at the front, just after mood.

Voice Edit

In Kontoo, the active voice has no affix, whilst the passive voice has the affix "en". This comes after aspect, but before the root.

Number Edit

The Kontoo language has a separate conjugation for one (default), two (la) and many (na'). The number affix comes after the root.

Tense Edit

Kontoo only has four tenses - infinitive (default), future (vo'), present (ga') and past (bu'). The affix comes after the number, at the very end.

Adjectives Edit

Adjectives only decline for number. The word "pra" means "more than", and so "otsen pra" would mean "further east than". "Pra" always comes directly after the adjective. In the case of a double "pra" - "otsen pra pra", although the literal translation would be "furtherer east", it becomes "furthest east".

SyntaxEdit

All pronouns begin with a capital letter. The word order is SVO, and the adjective or adverb comes directly after (no matter what) the word it describes. Gerunds are formed by taking the root of the verb and adding "-el", followed by the appropriate gender ending - all transitive verbs are male, all intransitive verbs are female, and all other verbs are neuter.
