This version in Lango.

Lango (from French langue, meaning "language"). It is an artificial international language, created in 2003. This project's goal is to try to create a new language for international communication.

The phonetic system of Lango consists of 5 vowel and 20 consonant phonemes. The stress always falls on the last second syllable. The graphics are based on the Roman alphabet. Diacritics are not used, there are letter combinations for 1 phoneme. The vocabulary is mainly based on Latin and Romanic elements. Parts of speech are also similar to those in Romanic languages. Relations between words are built via prepositions. As in Esperanto, every part of speech has the unique ending. More features of Lango:

  • Nouns do not have articles.
  • Adjectives and participles do not have plural form.
  • No gerund. Participal phrases are used instead.

The system of verbs consists of 3 tenses: past, present, future and 3 moods (indicative, imperative, conditional), perfective and imperfective aspects, active and passive voices. Participle has only 2 forms: past tense and present tense active voice. In wordformation the conversion (turning of one part of speech into another), affixation and composition are widely used. The syntax system of Lango is adopted from English and has the fixed word order: adjunct, subject, predicate, object.
