Mandasi was an early dragon herder language, part of the Makuran language family. Unlike its closest sister, Mantiri, it is well-attested and significant documents — fragmentary and wholesome — have been preserved in it. It was actively spoken by Makuran peoples of the mid and late Third Imperium; it fell out of prominence after a series of catastrophic military and demographic losses, and its speakers shifted to speaking Dentheric languages. It was written in a fairly consistent alphabetic script that mostly preserves the language's features. It was a fusional language with significant analytical and agglutinating constructions.
