General Information[]
Old Gastisc(Modern English: Old Gastish) is an earlier form of Modern Gastish (Gas. Gastisc). This language primarily serves as a basis for the Gastig Languages. In other words, it (most likely) will not be fleshed out at all, however some notes on the language will be written down and be comparable to features to all of the Gastish speech.
Name[]
Old Gastish is a West-Germanic language thought to be Ingvaeonic but certain features say otherwise. "Gast" was the name appended to broadswords of the time and place, following the pattern of Saxons with Seaxs, Franks with spears(whose names sounded similar to Frank), and angles supposedly similar named to hooks. One theory of the origin of this is that it derives from the same root as ghost, a name appended to the broadswords because they were inscribed with runes, hence blessed by spirits/ghosts. (The name is simply A Priori) and fittingly became the inherent name Gastig Language Family.
Orthography[]
The language was written in a runeset. The succession of the Latin alphabet found in Middle Gastish marks the end of the Old Gastish era.
Grammar[]
The language is known to have featured three genders(masculine, neuter, and feminine). It also held six fully inflected cases(Nominative, Accusative, Genitive, Dative, Instrumental, and Vocative), and some mock cases that served their function.

Nouns[]
There are many classes of nouns, very unstandardized.
Verbs[]
Verbs are vastly unstandardized with strong and weak, there is an umlaut. Aspect was not very stressed and mood played a larger roll. Every verb had a passive and an active form also. Reflexive forms were also in common use.
