• Why are you doing it the way you are doing it? ^{[1] [3]}

^[1] Questions an interested and concerned bystander would ask occasionally, especially when people are acting strangely.

^[2] "How do you do?" is also a salutation: "Showing concern means making sense"

^[3] When your ethical position is questionable ^[4] this may appear as a moses test.

^[4] questionable or, maybe, just not very well defined or well thought out.
