All vowels can be made long. This is orthographically indicated by doubling the vowel.

Phonotactics[]

The basic syllable structure is (C)V(C). However, a syllable cannot start with the last consonant of the previous syllable.

Any combination of a plosive and a fricative is possible, both initially and finally. Furthermore an approximant can be added to the end of an initial consonant cluster.

Verbs[]

Verbs aren't conjugated for things specified elsewhere in the sentence - so a sentence like "I ate a fish yesterday" wouldn't be in the past tense. Verbs don't agree with number either, but they do agree with person of both subject and objects - but not when that's already specified. For the subject and the direct object following prefixes are used:

Object
None 1st person 2nd person 3rd person
Subject None Ø- a- i- ål-
1st person ñy- eer- llon- uu-
2nd person paan- yyk- tåår- il-
3rd person mu- cit- çÿ- jii-

Indirect objects use suffixes instead: -kaa (1st person), -fyñ (2nd person) and -let (3rd person).

Tense[]

The past tense is formed by lowering and shortening the stressed vowel. In other words I and Y become E, E becomes A, U and Ÿ become O, O becomes Å, and A and Å remain unchanged.

The future tense however is formed using the circumfix my-...-cåll and switching the first two consonants (that includes the "m").

Nouns[]

Case Posessor
None 1st person 2nd person 3rd person
Transitive -fÿ -qoç -muu
Intransitive -'aa -fÿ'a -qo'oc -muu'u
Ditransitive -tå -få -qåc -må

If there is an adjective, the stem vowel is lengthened.
