Noun Edit

Noun in Severian language is part of speech that used to named living entities, non-living objects and phenomena. Nouns in Severian classified by animacy and gender. Noun can have neuter, feminine or masculine gender, and animate and non-animate animacy. Severian nouns are inflective. Noun inflections called declension (Severian:съклонєньјє /sɤklo'nenəje/). Nouns are also classified by paradigms of declension - stems.

The only one neuter gender word that belong to o-stem declension paradigm is animate: ліцо /li't͡so/ in it's second meaning - "person", as well as derived juridical term правовоjє ліцо /ʙ̥aβo'βoje li't͡so/ - "legal entity". Also in any o-stem neuter noun can be declined as animate, when it used figurative meaning to refer something animate, for example, when it used as nickname, or when noun interpreted as animate for artistic purposes, for example in fairy tail or poetry.

Animate neuter noun that belong to jo-stem. Mostly the are words that are derived from muscline and neuter noun by addition suffix -іщ-, predominantly they are augmentive forms of corrsponding nouns. Example котъ /'kotɯ/ (Sev. 'cat') → котіщє /kotiɕ:e/ (Sev. 'big cat').
