Skandinelska Nyspråkk or simply Nyspråkk is the modern spoken form of the Skandinelska language. It has also an official orthography and both the Nyspråkk and the Åldspråkk are accepted. However, the first one is a less conservative form and resembles much more the spoken language than the Åldspråkk form, which is fairly conservative and is very close to Scandinavian languages. History Edit

Origins Edit

Like most of the languages in Europe, Skandinelska descends from Proto-Indo-European and Old Norse. The Proto-Skandinelska (Søllspråkk) is very similar to Icelandic, Norwegian, Danish and Swedish, and also it borrowed a lot of words from English.

Åldspråkk to Nyspråkk Edit

The Åldspråkk was largely similar to Norwegian, Danish and Swedish and is fairly conservative. Åldspråkk is the most used written version of the language, and it is indeed a written-only language. Nyspråkk is the spoken language and its orthography resembles the spoken language and is not as conservative as Åldspråkk. Nyspråkk initially was a colloquial version of Åldspråkk and started diverging rapidly from it.

Phonology Edit

Nyspråkk`s phoneme inventory is very similar to that of Åldspråkk and to that of other Scadinavian languages.
