[edit] Dialects
Main page: Sonnend dialects
Major border between dialects follows the pre-1933 border of Cardoby and Ardenjost.
The position of Lendamish is disputed, whether it is a dialect of Sonnend or a separate language.
An example:
English: I drink beer forever, it is so good
Formal Sonnend: (Mas) idan halsy kujonaz, cel ljo inne husy
Colloquial Proper Sonnend: (Mas) idan halsy namer, cel ljo inne hus
Virmasan: (Mâs) idan halsê nâmar, câljo inna hus
Lendamish: M'ida halsa nomar, zajju ne hos
Vivestan: Ma jodan malsda namir, ce'ljo nje husa
Ardenjost slang: Idn casta name, celjo ne hus
1337 Sonnend: 1dn c45t4 n4m3 c3lj0 n3 hu5
In word "nâmar" (forever), Lendamish puts the accent to second syllable, a habit that no other dialect follows. Any other dialect puts the accent to the first syllable in every word.
