Tako is a very simple language spoken by group of simple people before being invaded by mirkuleons and freelanders Tako people lived in a jungle like enviroment in complete isolation so the language developed terms for only a small amount of things.
it is based loosely rotokas and polynesian languages
P t k i o a
Tako is monosyllabic: the possible syllables are CV, CVC, VC, VCV.
here are the three tones
|high tone||low tone||medial tone|
|kà [foot]||ka [bow]|
Nouns: Tako nouns are only marked for case and nothing else and are very simple, there are no pronouns instead people's names are used. Adjectives are simply nouns and adverbs are just verbs. Colours are named from what the represent in the wild e.g. blood is opo and thus red is opo.Edit
|ergative||kap[ap if word ends with consonant]|
|accusative||pak [ak if word ends with consonant]|
the verbs are simple and are not marked for tense, aspect or mood at all not even with pres postions for example walk is simply Pa because verbs do not conjugate nor do they agree, adjectives and adverbs are simply used as verbs or nouns for example green vine is simply òpò tipaki literal the vine is green. "ti" is the verb to be and behaves like all other verbs for it does not conjugate.
The word order is strictly SOV and OV and nothing agrees with anything.
There are many loan words from english and mirkuleon religious terms, war terms and herding terms for urdcax whilst more modern terms, and scientific terms come from english.
Tako has to change words from english drastically pati kis is merry christmas. if we look at this first loanword merry is rendered pati because there is no m so it becomes p, there is no e as in chirstmas is it becomes a, there is no r so it becomes t. christmas is kis because there are no polysyllabic words in tako, the ch in christmas is prounced k english and so can be just written k, the middle rstma is ommited completely.
