I am thinking of having six vowels instead of five.

I am thinking of having close and open-mid front unrounded and back rounded vowels, and close-mid and open central unrounded vowels.

So the vowels would be:

close: [i], [u];

close-mid: [@\];

open-mid: [E], [O];

open: [a\].

In a different order:

front unrounded: [i], [E];

central unrounded: [@\], [a\];

back rounded: [u], [O].
