I am thinking of changing Reptigan's vowel system to resemble Somali's, and have 9 vowels instead of 18.

They'd be close, close-mid, and open-mid front unrounded and back rounded vowels, and close, mid, and open central unrounded vowels.

So they'd be:

close: [i], [1], [u];

close-mid: [e], [o];

mid: [@];

open-mid: [E], [O];

open: [a\].

In a different order, they'd be:

front unrounded: [i], [e], [E];

central unrounded: [1], [@], [a\];

back rounded: [u], [o], [O].
