Vāgøgjaskt/Poetic Forms

Poetry flourished during, as well as well after, the hayday of Vāgøgjaskt. Våg Islander poetry generally followed the principle of Germanic poetry as a whole, utilising alliteration and accent placement as tools of emphasis, as well as some Scandinavian principles, such as internal rhymes, and disjunct half-lines in more elaborate poetic forms.
