Vorsalan is the only language of the Old Vuorasi subbranch in Kallo-Savonian languages. It is a proto-language for Neo-Vuorasi languages.

Vorsalan is official in Cordor and Poikopis provinces, and Vorsala autonomous region in Cuopio. There are approximately 1.3 million speakers.
