Xerotsy (Xerotsy: Χεροτος) is a language spoken on the island of Nethos (Νετηοσ) which has gained independence from Greece and developed it's own language with the Greek alphabet.

Writing System Edit

Alphabet Edit

The Xerotsinian alphabet (Ελβετηος Χεροτοσψι) is exactly the same as the Greek alphabet and looks like this:

Αα Ββ Γγ Δδ Εε Ζζ Ηη Θθ Ιι Κκ Λλ Μμ Νν Ξξ Οο Ππ Ρρ Σς Ττ Υυ Φφ Χχ Ψψ Ωω

Basic Grammar Edit

Nouns Edit

Gender Edit

Nouns are divided into 4 genders: Feminine (Φρωελεκ), masculine (Μνωελεκ), neuter (Ντρελ), and unknown (Νεβκεντη). Feminine nouns always end with -is, masculine with -os, neuter with -es and unknown with everything else. Examples: Φρεωις (woman, -ις), Ελβετηος (alphabet, -ος), Μζενες (people, -ες SINGULAR IN XEROTSY) and Στοποχ (shop, -οχ).

Number Edit

Xerotsy uses three numbers: Singular, plural and unknown. Singular words don't change, and stay the same when using it as accusative, nominative, dative, genitive or anything else. In plural forms they change like this:

Standard form (singular) Plural (acc., nom.) Plural (dat., abl.) Plural (gen., voc.)
Φρεωις Φρεωα Φρεωαε Φρεωαες
Ελβετηος Ελβετηε Ελβετηεσ Ελβετηεσι
Μζενες Μζενο Μζενομ Μζενομι
Στοποχ Στοπι Στοπιλ Στοπιλα

The unknown form of a word can be used in situations like this:

How many shops are there? I don't know how many shops there are. -> Στοπψ ζψε ι; Στοπψν ζψε ι.

It doesn't matter what gender the word is, unknown nouns always change like this:

Number and gender: Singular (f/m/u) Plural (f/m/u)

Unknown (f/m/u)

Positive  Στοπε Στοπμ Στοπψ
Negative Στοπεν Στοπμν Στοπψν
Not specified/unknown Στοπεθ Στοπμθ Στοπψθ
